Ashwagandhadi Lehyam (also called Ashwagandha Lehyam and spelled as Aswagandhadi Lehyam) is used for the treatment of neuromuscular conditions. It increases physical strength, vitality, vigor, stamina and physical endurance capacity. Generally, it is mainly used for emaciation, underweight, physical weakness, debility in old age, oligospermia, and impotence. It is also beneficial for arthritis, backache, fibromyalgia, insomnia (trouble sleeping), anxiety, stress disorders and breathing troubles due to excessive emaciation or physical debility.

Ashwagandhadi Lehyam is a potent adaptogen due to the presence of Ashwagandha (Withania Somnifera). It helps the body cope with stress, so it can also be used as a general health tonic. It also acts on the immune system and improves non-specific immunity. It calms the mind and induces good quality of sleep. It also reduces inflammation and pain, so it can also be used in all types of pain disorders.

Preparation Method

For making Ashwagandhadi Lehyam, take 452 grams water and add coarse powder of Ashwagandha, Sariva, Jeera and Madhusnuhi each 192 grams.

Now, boil and then simmer the mixture until it 1/4th remains. Now, filter the decoction and add 1.356 Kg sugar in the filtered decoction. Again simmer the decoction with sugar until it becomes thick having Avaleha (Jam) like consistency.

Now, remove it from heat and add 24 grams of Green cardamom. Leave it to cool naturally for several minutes. When its temperature comes down to room temperature, then add 452 grams of honey in it and mix it well. Now, Ashwagandhadi Lehya is ready to use.

Along with Sariva and Ashwagandha as in this combination, it provides relief from pyospermia. For best results, Ashwagandhadi Lehyam should be given in a combination of Dashmoolarishta and Triphala Churna.

The general dosage of Ashwagandhadi Lehyam is as follows.
Toddler (Age: 1 – 3 yrs)750 mg to 1 grams
Preschooler (3 – 5 yrs)1 gram to 1.5 grams
Grade-schooler (5 – 12 yrs)1.5 grams to 3 grams
Teenager (13 -19 yrs)3 grams to 6 grams
Adults (19 to 60 yrs)6 to 12 grams
Geriatric (above 60 yrs)6 grams
Maximum Possible Dosage24 grams Per Day (in divided doses)
Doses: 2 Doses per day
Best Time to Take: 45 minutes before meal or 2 hours after meal
Adjuvant: Warm Milk
