Ayurvedic Treatment of Fever

Ayurvedic medicine is very oldest healing system, which has been used for 5000 to 10000 years in Indian sub continental. It is well known for its safety and efficacy in many chronic as well as acute diseases. Ayurvedic treatment is equally effective as conventional medicine. However, a common belief of people is it acts slowly, which is not true. It works equally, but due to being expensive people never comes to ayurveda first, they try conventional medicines. When they get frustrated with allopathic medicines, they start searching for alternative methods of treatment, and then they find out ayurveda. Therefore, ayurveda get famous for the treatment of chronic diseases.

Ayurveda vs Modern Science in The Treatment of Fever

The system, which can treat you in chronic state, is also capable for treating your ailments in their acute phase. Conventional medicines are not completely safe and have many adverse effects. Sometimes, you get treatment for fever and your liver is affected by dangerous side effects of antibiotic and acetaminophen (commonly known as paracetamol). Now question is that do I consider ayurveda safe or not. Not on the nose, but it is safer than conventional medicine. All things in the world have some after effects or side effect when used by wrong method or taken in excess amount. It may be same with ayurveda and herbal medicine, but here we want to compare what is safer. Most of ayurvedic medicines are safe, but some may have adverse effects. Therefore, we never advocate self-medication of any medicine including ayurvedic and herbal medicines. Expert’s advice should always be respected and followed.

In emergency care, modern medicines are more reliable than ayurvedic medicines. There are a few ayurvedic doctors dealing with emergency medicine according to ayurveda. But most of ayurvedic doctors refer their patients to civil hospitals and other emergency health care service providers.

Ayurvedic medicines are more reliable for chronic diseases, but they are also effective in acute general cases such as fever, common cold, cough, respiratory infections and sore throat etc. However, ayurevdic medicines are not used for emergency cases such as burns (during emergency care), accidents, fractures etc.
