Brahmi Vati Benefits, Uses, Dosage & Side Effects

Brahmi Vati has three different formulas used in ayurveda. Each type of Brahmi Vati has different action in the body and different therapeutic indications.
- Brahmi Vati (Gold or Swarna) – Used in fevers (especially typhoid fever) – Manufactured by Baidyanath
- Brahmi Vati (Chechak) – Used in Small Pox
- Brahmi Vati (Memory Enhancer) – Used in memory loss, mental fatigue and stress disorders – Manufactured by Dabur
Different types of Brahmi Vati have different ingredients. However, Brahmi (Bacopa Monnieri) is a common ingredient present in all.
Brahmi Vati (Gold or Swarna)
Brahmi Vati (Gold or Swarna) is used in typhoid fever and reducing restlessness in the various types of fevers. Baidyanath mainly manufactures it.

Dosage
Each tablet of Brahmi Vati (Gold or Swarna) contains 125 mg to 150 mg content depending on manufacturing companies. The dosage is 1 to 2 tablets twice a day. The maximum daily dosage of Brahmi Vati (Gold or Swarna) should not exceed from 600 mg.
Brahmi Vati (Chechak)
Brahmi Vati (Chechak) is used in small pox.

Each tablet of Brahmi Vati (Chechak) contains 125 mg to 250 mg content depending on manufacturing companies. The dosage is 1 to 2 tablets twice a day. The maximum daily dosage of Brahmi Vati (Chechak) should not exceed from 500 mg.
Brahmi Vati (Memory Enhancer)
Brahmi Vati (Memory Enhancer) is used to increase memory, reduce mental fatigue and treat depression and other stress disorders.

Each tablet contains 250 mg to 375 mg content depending on manufacturing companies. The dosage is 1 to 2 tablets twice a day. The maximum daily dosage of Brahmi Vati (Memory Enhancer) should not exceed from 1500 mg.
Caution
Brahmi Vati contains heavy metal, so it should only be used if any other alternative is not available and under the supervision of ayurevdic physician.

I would like to know if Brahmi Vati (chechak) can be used as memory enhancer also. Is there any side effects?
Yes, it can also be used for enhancing memory.
Can it cause nausea. I am having nausea feeling after having it.
In very rare instance, Brahmi Vati may cause nausea, especially in people already suffering from hyperacidity or similar problems.
