Himalaya’s Diakof is an ayurvedic proprietary medicine used in diabetic people for the treatment of cough of varied etiology. It is sugar free cough linctus (thick cough syrup), which helps in productive as well as dry cough.

Indications
The main indication of Diakof linctus is cough with a variety of underlying etiologies. It provides symptomatic relief and reduces frequency of cough attacks.
Benefits & Uses
Diakof linctus has mucolytic properties, which reduces the thickness of the sputum and helps easier coughing up the sputum and clearing the lungs. Antitussive properties of some ingredients (especially Adhatoda Vasica) present in Diakof are comparable with codeine, so it also relieves cough and reduces frequency of persistent cough attacks.
Dosage
Children: 1 teaspoon three to four times a day
Adults: 1 to 2 teaspoons three to four times a day
Caution & Side Effects
Diakof linctus is Possibly Safe for diabetic people with any type of cough. There is no adverse effect reported with the use of Diakof Linctus for a short-term period. It contains Ammonium Chloride, but the amount of Ammonium Chloride is insignificant to cause any adverse effects.
