Guggulu Rasayana

Guggulu Rasayana is used for the treatment of obesity. It helps to lose weight and reduces accumulation of fat in the body. It improves digestion and metabolism, which improves the usability of major nutrients including fats, protein, and carbohydrates. The improvement in metabolic rate helps to enhance the burning of the accumulated fats. In addition, it also reduces bad body odor, excessive sweating, and laziness. It improves strength, vitality, and immunity.

Preparation Method

For making Guggulu Rasayana, take an iron mortar and put Shuddha Guggulu in it and add a small quantity of Bhringraj Svarasa. Pestle it and gradually add the fine powder of other ingredients of Guggulu Rasayana. When the mixture is ready to make tablets, then make tablets of each 500 mg.

Guggulu Rasayana Dosage

The general dosage of Guggulu Rasayana is as follows.
Children250 to 750 mg
Adults500 to 1500 mg (optimum dosage is 1500 mg)
Maximum Possible Dosage3 grams Per Day (in divided doses)
Doses: 2 Doses per day
Best Time to Take: 30 Minutes before meal
Adjuvant: Warm water or Triphala Water

Side Effects of Guggulu Rasayana

Generally, there are no side effects when Guggulu Rasayana is used wisely in patients with the dominance of Kapha Dosha. If the patient has Pitta Prakriti or any condition related to the increase of the Pitta, then it can cause following side effects:

  • Heartburn
  • Burning sensation in abdomen
  • Acid reflux

These side effects with Guggulu Rasayana are very rare because it also contains some ingredients like Swarna Makshik Bhasma, Amla, and Nagarmotha, which acts to reduce acid reflux, heartburn, and burning or heat sensation.

Contraindications

There are no absolute contraindications for Guggulu Rasayana.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Guggulu Rasayana should not be used during pregnancy.

The safety profile of Guggulu Rasayana is not well established for lactating mothers. Consult an ayurvedic physician before using Guggulu Rasayana during lactation.
