Guluchyadi Kashayam (Guduchyadi Kashayam)

Guluchyadi Kashayam (also spelled as Guduchyadi Kashayam and Guduchyadi Ghan Kwath) is an ayurvedic medicine mainly used for fevers and infections associated with burning sensation, excessive thirst, loss of appetite, nausea, and vomiting. It can be used in all infections occurring with burning sensation and high-grade fever. It has anti-microbial action and anti-inflammatory property. It can also be used in cases of heartburn, acid reflux, gastritis, nausea and vomiting with the sour taste of mouth and sour belching (burp).

In addition to these, it is also effective for liver diseases in which Pita Dosha has predominance. It is likely to increase immunity, improve functions of liver and kidneys, and balance three Dosha (Tridosha). The main effects are observed on Pita Dosha, then Kapha Dosha, and Ama (toxins), and then Vata Dosha.

Furthermore, it is an excellent remedy for ankle pain occurring with tenderness, burning feet syndrome and Dysesthesia with burning sensation.

Pharmacological Actions

Guluchyadi Kashayam has anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties, so it is effective for reducing inflammation and arresting the microbial growth. It mainly reduces burning sensation, heat sensation, sour taste of mouth, nausea and vomiting associated with acidity, sour taste of mouth or sour burps. According to Ayurveda, it mainly reduces Pita Dosha and Kapha Dosha, so it gives relief in all these symptoms.

Guluchyadi Kashayam Churna

If you are using Guluchyadi Kashayam Churna, then take 48 grams churna in 768 ml water. Boil to reduce it 96 ml Guluchyadi liquid.

The general dosage of Decoction (Kwath) prepared with Guluchyadi Kashayam Churna is as follows.

Guluchyadi Kashayam Liquid

Guluchyadi Kashayam Liquid is readymade concentrated decoction and can be used in the following dosage.

Adults5 to 15 ml *
Maximum Possible Dosage30 ml Per Day (in divided doses)
* Twice a day with 4 times boiled and cooled water

Guluchyadi Kashayam Tablets are the extract tablets of the Guluchyadi decoction.

The general dosage of Guluchyadi Kashayam Tablets is as follows.

* Twice a day with warm water
Best Adjuvant: lukewarm water
