How to Use
- Add 1.5 ounces of flaxseeds with 4 ounces of cottage cheese along with 1 ounce of milk in a blender.
- Blend this mixture and add little honey or some substitute fruits. Consume it daily in the morning.
Okra
Okra consists of POLYPHENOLIC molecules that help control blood glucose levels. A study conducted by the Journal of Pharmacy & Bioallied Sciences has mentioned that okra seed and powder of its peel have antihyperlipidemic and antidiabetic potential.
How to Use
- Cut the okras at ends and slit them.
- Later, soak them in water overnight.
- Drink this water on an empty stomach daily in the morning.
- Follow this remedy everyday till you see good results.

Cinnamon
The powdered form of cinnamon can help in lowering the blood sugar levels by triggering the activity of insulin. The bioactive compounds in cinnamon help combating and preventing diabetes.
How to use
- Take a half tsp. of cinnamon powder in a cup of warm water daily in the morning. Follow this for at least 40 days to see effective results.
- Add 3tbsp. of cinnamon powder to one-liter water and allow it to boil. Strain it and consume it daily.
Caution
However, the intake of cinnamon should not exceed as the cinnamon that is found in the grocery stores (Cassia cinnamon) contain COUMARIN. This is a toxic substance, which might also increase the risks of liver damage.
Ceylon cinnamon is a true cinnamon and a safer option to have. However, its effects on the blood glucose levels are not completely known. Some studies have mentioned that cinnamon has shown its effects in controlling type-2 diabetes by reducing blood sugar levels and by enhancing the production of natural insulin by the body.
Alfalfa Seeds
Alfalfa seeds are loaded with essential nutrients and helps in lowering blood sugar levels.
How to Use
- Sprinkle one tsp. of alfalfa seeds on your salads or the food you eat.
- Alfalfa capsules are also available and can be taken after consulting your physician.
Bitter Gourd
Bitter gourd is one such effective remedy, which can help lower blood glucose levels. It in fact influences the glucose metabolism of the entire body rather than a particular organ. It helps in enhancing the pancreatic insulin production and helps in preventing insulin resistance. It helps in controlling type-1 & type-2 diabetes.
How to Use
- Remove the seeds of bitter gourd and extract it juice.
- Drink it on an empty stomach early in the morning.

Mango leaves
Tender mango leaves can be used for effectively treating diabetes by regulating insulin levels in the blood. It even helps in improving the lipid profile.

- Soak a bunch of tender mango leaves overnight in a large bowl of water.

Amla (Indian Gooseberry)

Fenugreek Seeds

- Soak 1/4th tbsp. of fenugreek seeds overnight.
- Gulp down these seeds early in the morning on an empty stomach.
Jambul or Indian Blackberry
It is considered as an effective remedy for diabetes due to its effect on pancreas. This fruit contains ELLAGIC ACID, ANTHOCYANINS etc. Alkaloid JAMBOSINE and GLYCOSIDE JAMBOLINE in the seeds of jambul control blood sugar levels.
The seeds have hypoglycemic effects that help control urine sugar and blood sugar levels.
How to Use
You can dry and powder the seeds of jambul and have it with water twice a day.
