Nalpamaradi Kera Thailam – Nalpamaradi Velichenna Oil

Nalpamaradi Kera Thailam is also called Nalpamaradi Velichenna Oil. It has same ingredients as in Nalpamaradi Thailam except for the base oil. The coconut oil is the Taila Dravya (Base Oil) in Nalpamaradi Kera Thailam instead of sesame oil.

Nalpamaradi Kera Thailam is useful in scabies, itchy skin (pruritus), acne, erysipelas, herpes, dermatitis etc. It is also used in the management of fungal infections of the skin, eczema, and psoriasis.

It acts as a potent antipyretic agent and gives relief from the itching. It also has demulcent action, which helps to soothe skin and gives relief from the burning sensation and irritation. It alleviates inflammation and reduces redness in the skin diseases. It prevents tanning and improves complexion.

Ingredients (Composition) & Preparation Method

The preparation of Nalpamaradi Kera Thailam has three components:

  1. Kalka Dravya – Herbal powder for making a paste
  2. Taila Dravya (Base Oil) – Coconut Oil
  3. Drava Dravya – Liquid content – Juices of herbs

The ingredients and preparation method of Nalpamaradi Kera Oil is discussed below:

Pipal or Ashwatha Tree (Sacred Fig) – Ficus Religiosa Bark15 grams
Bargad or Barh or Vat (Indian Banyan) – Ficus Benghalensis Bark15 grams
Triphala:
Haritaki or Harad (Chebulic Myrobalan) – Terminalia Chebula15 grams
Bibhitaki (Bahera) – Terminalia Bellirica15 grams
Amalaki (Amla or Indian Gooseberry) – Phyllanthus Emblica (Emblica Officinalis)15 grams
Ushira or Khas (Vetiver) – Vetiveria Zizanioides15 grams
Safed Chandan (White Sandalwood) – Santalum Album15 grams
Manjistha (Manjith) – Rubia Cordifolia15 grams
Kuth or Kushta (Indian Costus Root) – Saussurea Lappa15 grams
Chora (Smooth Angelica) – Angelica Glauca15 grams

Prepare an herbal paste from the powdered herbs given above and using a small amount of water.

Drava Dravya:
Pitpapra (Shahtra) Svarasa – Fumaria Indica Juice1280 ml
Haldi (Turmeric) Svarasa – Curcuma Longa Juice1280 ml

Collect the juices from fresh Pitpapra and Fresh turmeric roots.

Taila Dravya – Base Oil:
Coconut Oil – Nariyal Tail640 ml

Now, take a stainless steel vessel and put the 640 ml Coconut Oil – Nariyal Tail in it. Now, add Kalka and Drava Dravya in it. Then, simmer the mixture until it remains the quantity of Coconut Oil and water content is evaporated. Now, allow it to cool. Then filter the Nalpamaradi Kera Oil and discard the residues.

Nalpamaradi Kera Tailam Benefits & Uses

Like Nalpamaradi Oil, it also treats same diseases. Due to coconut oil as a base, its effects increase in case of acne and itching occurring with burning sensation.

Acne

Nalpamaradi Kera Tailam contains coconut oil, which is the main source of medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs). It contains Capric Acid and Lauric Acid. All these fatty acids have powerful antimicrobial properties. (1, 2)

The Lauric acid in the coconut oil is much more effective than BENZOYL PEROXIDE. It also reduces inflammation associated with acne-causing skin bacteria. (3, 4)

Other ingredients in Nalpamaradi Kera Taila improve its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory action. So, it reduces inflammation in acne and kills bacteria.

Scabies

Nalpamaradi Kera Thailam is an effective treatment for scabies. It helps to kill scabies mites and relieves itching. Antibacterial action of its ingredients also prevents secondary infections in sores or blisters. Along with its external application, Gandhak Rasayana, Khadirarishta, and Maha Manjishtadi kwath should also be taken internally for best results.

How to Use Nalpamaradi Oil

Take a few drops of Nalpamaradi Kera Tailam and apply it on affected part of the skin. Leave it applied for at least 60 minutes to get maximum positive results. It can also be left on the skin overnight to treat hyperpigmentation, blemishes, and dark spots. It can be applied twice daily depending on the severity of the condition.
