Himalaya Pilex Tablets for Piles
Himalaya Pilex is an ayurvedic proprietary medicine manufactured by The Himalaya Drug Company. Two types of product are available – Pilex Tablets and Pilex ointment. Pilex Tablets are given for the management of piles and Pilex ointment is used for local application for reducing itching, discomfort, and pain.

The combination of Pilex ointment and Pilex a tablet give relief from anal discomfort, reduce size of hemorrhoids and alleviate anal pain.

Benefits & Uses
Pilex tablets shrink the hemorrhoid mass and stop bleeding. Pilex reduces inflammation of mucous membrane and skin. It reduces rectal bleeding, alleviates pain & itching and treats chronic constipation, which are main symptoms of hemorrhoids.
Fissures
Pilex tablets should be used along with Pilex ointment in the fissure. Generally, ointment alone can provide good results in fissures. In addition to Pilex tablets and ointment, one may also need to take Gandhak Rasayana and Yashad Bhasma for quick healing of fissures.
Bleeding Piles
Pilex tablet contains Daruhaldi (Berberis Aristata), Neem seeds and Nagkesar, which are effective remedies for bleeding piles. In mild cases, it alone can provide good relief. Pilex is effective if one has mild bleeding with hemorrhoids. Non-bleeding Piles
Pilex Tablets are likely to shrink the pile mass and reduces inflammation. Ingredients in it help a proper elimination of VAYU (gas) and reduce Vata aggravation, which further helps to reduce stretching of the blood vessels and likely to reduce the pile mass. In severe cases, it can be used along with Kankayan Vati for best results.

How many days should I take Pilex tablets? How long should I take it to cure piles?
There is no specified duration for Pilex use and it can be used till complete relief from piles. Treatment duration can also vary person-to-person. When you get complete relief, you can stop it. Generally, it may take 4 to 12 weeks to provide good results in the management of piles.
Can we take two tablets at a time or one in twice or thrice?
The adult dosage of Pilex tablets is 2 tablets twice daily i.e. you need to take 2 tablets in the morning and 2 tablets in the evening.
It says on the bottle 2 or 3 tablets twice or thrice daily. Which one is correct?
In mild cases, 2 tablets twice daily are sufficient dosage. In moderate cases, one may require it in the dosage of 2 tablets thrice daily.
Is there any food restriction while taking Pilex Tab.?
Yes, the oily, spicy and sour foods are restricted.
Can I take 3 tablets three times daily? Is there any side effect with this dosage?
This dosage can be taken if recommended by a physician. The dosage may differ case to case. There should be no side effects with this dosage.
Can I drink milk or not while suffering from piles?
Yes, Milk can be taken by a patient suffering from piles.
Should I eat chicken if not why?
If you suffer from hemorrhoids or piles, then it is advisable to take high fiber diet and foods that are easily digestible. Taking too much meat or chicken on regular basis can cause constipation because it does not contain sufficient amount of the required fiber content.
As long as you take a healthy diet that is also fiber rich, then you can eat chicken occasionally.
I am suffering from a Burning sensation after every morning BM from past few weeks, recently I self examined and found Hemorrhoids near the end of the Sphincter. One day in recent past I observed a Pea Like Lump towards the end of Sphincter , associated with Pain. A day Later , the swelling subsides, but pain still persists, whenever I wash after BM. Its like a burning sensation , when we put water on open Cut.
I am taking , Aceclofenac, Amoxicillin and Ointment Practosedyl as recommended by one of GP.
The pain somewhat reduced , but the burning sensation still persists, and I can see minor scratches on the skin, due to which it burns as soon as I complete my BM.
Kindly suggest any other way to get releif.
The cure and control is purely based on diet as follows:
Breakfast: eat a banana with high fiber cereals with little milk.
10 am: have a glass of diluted yougurt with a pinch of roasted cumin seeds and also after every meal lunch and dinner.
Lunch: have any veggie saute with lots of garlic and olive oil.
Dinner: have a bowl of fresh green leafy salad for the dressing saute lots of garlic in olive oil and pour it on top of the salad.
Take a sitz bath before bed with warm watet and salt and dry area well with a fan or blow dryer.
Please note strictly follow the above for 3 months along with pilex 2 tabs after breakfast and 2 tabs after dinner.

Its expiry is 3 years from the date of manufacture. If manufacture date is april 2017, then it should be fine to consume til March 2020.
