Rajat Bhasma (Chandi Bhasma) - Raupya Bhasma

Rajat Bhasma (also called Chandi Bhasma, Raupya Bhasma and Calcined Silver Ash), is calcified ayurvedic drug used in eye diseases, debility, anal fissure, cough with yellow sputum, frequent urination, jaundice, anemia, enlargement of spleen, liver hypertrophy, fatty liver, oligospermia, physical weakness, epilepsy, hysteria and neurological diseases.

Rajat bhasma is reduced silver nanoparticles used in ayurvedic medicine for various purposes. It is prepared with the technique of extensive oxidation under intense heat. Calcined Silver ash or residue bhasma remains when silver is burned with some herbs especially with limejuice. This Chandi Bhasma is generated under high temperature from pure silver particles. With the process of heating under intense temperature, silver particles are converted into nanoparticles and calcined ash becomes light in weight and floats over the water.
