- Take a quarter cup of sesame oil and warm it, but do not make it very hot.

- Once you start, continue the oil pulling method for half to one minute and later keep on increasing the time as you get used to it.
- After doing this exercise for a week persistently, you will be able to do it for about 15-20 minutes at a stretch.

How to use coconut oil for receding gums
- After brushing your teeth, take some coconut oil (preferably virgin coconut oil) and use it as mouthwash.
- Try this for a couple of minutes initially and then increase the time.
- For long-term protection against dental disorders, do this exercise for 15-20 minutes daily.
- This may also help to grow back your receding gums.
Lemon oil
Lemon has antibacterial and antiseptic properties, which can instantly stop the gums to recede, by killing the germs and bacteria causing it. It also helps to detoxify the mouth. Procedure of making Lemon Oil at home
You need 1/4 – 1/2 cup Olive oil and some lemon juice of 1-2 lemons.
Process
- Take the oil in a jar with lid. Add fresh lemon juice into the jar and cover it.
- Shake it well and place it in shade for 3-4 weeks to prepare an infusion. Shake it once every day.
- To use it, take a small amount of the lemon oil on to your finger or a toothbrush.
- Massage your gums with the oil for a few minutes.
Eucalyptus
Eucalyptus is an essential oil having anti-inflammatory properties. It destroys the germs and bacteria present in the mouth, which cause gum disorders and reduces swollen gums. It also stimulates gum tissue development and repairs ruptured gums.
Technique
- Dilute the eucalyptus oil with water, and shake well before you use it.
- Dip your fingers or toothbrush in diluted oil and massage your gums gently for few minutes.
- Wash your mouth well with water.
Cloves
Cloves are considered very effective against bacterial and fungal infections. It also aids the development of tissue and repair of receded gums.
Technique
- Apply clove oil to your gums and massage for a few minutes.
- Do this 1-3 times daily.
Tea tree oil
A small amount of tea tree oil is to be diluted in olive oil and used as a mouthwash. It has a strong anti-fungal and anti-bacterial property that kills germs and removes plaque, which is responsible for receding of gums.
Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is a very effective and easily accessible herb, which is has anti-inflammatory and anti bacterial properties. It helps to prevent tooth decay, gum receding and restore damaged gums.
Technique
- There are two ways in which Aloe Vera gel can be used to treat receding gums – brushing and as a mouthwash.
- Every morning and at night, after brushing, take some aloe vera gel on your toothbrush and brush your teeth and gums for 3-5 minutes. Wash mouth properly.
- Alternatively, use aloe vera gel as a mouthwash. After brushing in the morning, add some water to aloe vera gel and mix well to get the consistency of a mouthwash. Wash your mouth with it.
Sodium Bicarbonate Paste
Since baking soda is a basic compound, it will help to neutralize the acidic compounds produced by bacteria that cause gum diseases like gum recession, etc.
Technique
Pour several tablespoons of baking soda into a bowl followed by a few of water and stir with your finger to form a paste that you can scoop in your finger. After getting the paste of correct texture, apply it on your gums (not just the receding sections) and gently massage for about 20 seconds. After this, gargle with clean water.
Vitamins
Vitamins are extremely important for the overall growth and development of a disease free body. People who do not consume the recommended amount of vitamins put themselves at a higher risk of getting gum disease.
Vitamin C specifically is the chief vitamin that is required for maintaining healthy gums as well as fighting off any attacks on the same. Though taking vitamin supplements to meet the body’s vitamin requirements is completely fine, but it is always recommended that vitamins be taken in their natural form. Some naturally available sources of vitamin C include citrus fruits like oranges, AMLA (Indian gooseberry) and lemon.
I have tried oil pulling, Dabur Red, Vajardanti, Baba Ramdev’s Medicated and Ayurvedic toothpaste. Nothing worked to grow the receding gum.
