Benefits & Medicinal Uses

Rumalaya is mainly indicated for reducing inflammation and pain of organs in musculoskeletal system.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rumalaya contains Mahayograj Guggul as a principle ingredient, which acts on AMA (toxins responsible for AMAVATA). It reduces AMA by digesting and eliminating it. Shigru (Moringa Pterygosperma) in Rumalaya decreases edema, swelling, and serum levels of rheumatoid factor (RF), IL-1, IL-6 and TNF-alpha. It has promising antiarthritic activities and it also reduces oxidative stress due to its antioxidant action. People taking Rumalaya can experience attenuation in pain, swelling, and stiffness.

Rumalaya is best suitable for patients having following symptoms in Rheumatoid Arthritis:

  1. Morning stiffness
  2. Swollen joints
  3. Fatigue
  4. Joint stiffness
  5. Rheumatoid nodules

Rumalaya is best suitable for patients who get relief from pain with steam, hot fomentation, and pressing the joints. We found Rumalaya is not suitable for patients also suffering with heartburn, excessive thirst, when pain increases with steam, hot fomentation or pressing the joints. In such cases, we found Panchamrit Loha Guggul along with Mustak (Cyprus Rotundus) works best. Rumalaya Forte can also be used in such cases instead of Rumalaya tablets. If Rumalaya or Mahayograj Guggul is still required using in such patients, then appropriate measures should be taken for treating other PITTA conditions as well. Simultaneous treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and PITTA is also very helpful.

In osteoarthritis, Rumalaya also works on joint stiffness and pain. It improves mobility and flexibility of joints. It can be beneficial alone in initial cases of osteoarthritis, knee pain or back pain, but in chronic cases, strengthening herbs like Ashwagandha, Mulethi (Yashtimadhu), Shatavari, Musli, Vidarikand, etc. should also be included in the treatment.

Frozen Shoulder (Adhesive Capsulitis)

The main symptoms of frozen shoulder are shoulder stiffness and pain, which gradually increases over time. Rumalaya is works well for reducing symptoms and stopping progress of the disease. Along with Rumalaya tablets, shoulder massage and steam is also beneficial and helps in quick recovery.

Safety Profile

Rumalaya is well-tolerated when taken in VATA and KAPHA dominating symptoms like pain and stiffness. People with PITTA body type, or also having PITTA conditions should take special care while using it. Read precaution for more details.

Rumalaya works on VATA and KAPHA conditions well and suitable for patients having dominating symptoms of these humors. It may not be suitable for patients suffering with PITTA aggravation even when they also suffer from joint pains or inflammatory conditions. Rumalaya is best suitable for patients with loss of appetite.

Patients having complaints of stomach irritation, heartburn, vertigo, burning sensation or other Pitta symptoms should not take Rumalaya because some patients can experience increase in these symptoms with Rumalaya.

Side Effects

Rumalaya has no adverse effects itself, but it may worsen the PITTA symptoms if patients already suffering with them.
