Trayodashang Guggulu Benefits, Uses, Dosage & Side Effects

Trayodashang Guggulu (also spelled as trayodasanga guggul) is guggul based herbal formulation. It provides strength to the nerves, bones, joints, muscles and ligaments. It is effective in all types of diseases related to nervous system and musculoskeletal system.

We found it more effective in osteoarthritis in combination with Gokshuradi Guggulu and Ashwagandha Powder. It is also beneficial in gout, pain disorders, paralysis, hemiplegia, sciatica pain and all types of joint pain. Generally, it works well when following two symptoms are associated together.

Paralytic disorders (hemiplegia or facial paralysis)

In ayurvedic ancient texts, paralytic disorders are main indication of Trayodashang Guggulu. It increases recovery span of paralytic disorders. It works well if you start taking it within a month of paralysis attack. In chronic cases, it can also help, but its beneficial effects are less as compared to early start.

Osteoarthritis

Trayodashang Guggulu has very good results in osteoarthritis. It arrests wear and tear process of the joints and cartilages. For more results, the following ayurvedic combination helps.

* Your doctor can adjust dosage according to your health needs, body weight and age. This dosage is for adult male patient having at least 60 Kg body weight. It can be given twice a day. For better results, you can use milk as adjuvant.

Osteoporosis or low bone mineral density

However, Trayodashang Guggulu does not increase bone mineral density directly, so you also require calcium, zinc, magnesium and vitamin D supplement. In combination of this and Laxadi Guggulu, Trayodashang Guggulu works awesome. It provides strength to bones and prevents fractures and bone injury.

Trayodashang Guggulu Dosage

The dosage of Trayodashang Guggulu varies from 750 mg to 1.5 grams twice a day. Less than this dosage, it is not effective in osteoarthritis and paralytic disorders. However, in osteoporosis, it is used as supportive therapy in combination of minerals and laxadi guggul, so the dosage can be 500 mg twice a day. The dosage should be twice a day and dosage table is below for your reference.

Caution & Side Effects

Trayodashang Guggulu is POSSIBLY SAFE & WELL TOLERATED in most people. However, it is heavy in digestion, so its excess dosage can cause loss of appetite and indigestion.

The following side effects occur only with heavy dosage (6 grams per day).

    1. Trayodashang Guggulu provides strength to the neck muscles and prevents wear and tear of spinal disks. When it is taken along with milk, it prevents shrinkage and dehydration of spinal disks.   1. What is the tentative duration to get complete cure by using trayodashang guggulu for cervical spondylosis?

    1. The results vary person-to-person. Generally, trayodashang guggulu with appropriate dosage (1 gram twice daily) gives good results within 3 months. It should be used along with Nasya with Anu Thailam, Boswellia Serrata, and other herbs. Sometimes, trayodashang guggulu alone does not provide desired results.

  2. Is it right to take trayodasanga guggulu along with raasnasaptaka kashayam for head ,throat congestion , tonsillitis (head) ,shoulder pain in both side , spinal compression, knee pain , foot pain , stiffness of leg below the knee.

Sir my elder brother was prescribed saribadyasavam and khadirarisht for sin itching ,rashes ,acne ,dandruff ,digestion. but he also has neck ,back ,shoulder pains not severe, sometime numbness in hands and right leg sometimes, weakness. so a dr gave palsinuron tab..but a vaidya frnd of mine said avoid medicine containing heavy metal ingredients if you can..instead take chandraprabhavati with trayodashang for a month then if you wish continue for long…sir can these 2 vati be taken aling with khadira and saribadyasav liquid…do they cause any prob?? dose is mild only 2 spoons with water twice .Thank you

    1. I have joint space narrowing in knee may I take yograj gugallu and trayodashang gugallu both ? May I take these both gugallu along with ransadi kwath for life time? If not to be taken for lifetime than how long I take this ayurvedic preparation?
