Allam Murabba Recipe & Health Benefits

Allam Murabba (also known as ginger murabba and ginger brittle) is an ayurvedic and Unani herbal preparation in which ginger and sugar are main ingredients.

Allam Murabba is therapeutically useful in the treatment of loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia and indigestion. It is also beneficial in abdominal heaviness after meal, abdominal distention, abdominal pain, arthritis, joint disorders, common cold, flu, diarrhea and menstrual problems.

Allam Murabba Recipe

Ginger250 grams
Sugar250 grams
Jaggery (Gur)500 grams
Cardamom seeds powder2 tsp.
WaterAs needed (500 ml to 1 liter)
Cow’s Ghee – Clarified Butter2 tbsp.

Preparation

Take ginger and peel off the outer skin. Now, make slices and grind ginger slices to a fine paste. You can also add 1 to 2 tsp. water for grinding if needed.

Preparing sugar syrup

Take a non-sticky pan and add 500 ml water. Now, boil the water and add jaggery and sugar. Let heat the liquid with jaggery and sugar until it dissolve well. Keep stirring the mixture and make sugar syrup with one string consistency.

Adding ginger paste and additives

Now, add ginger paste and other additives like cardamom powder etc. Keep stirring the mixture and heat the mixture until it starts thicken and turns to semi-solid. After that, switch off the stove.

Making allam murabba cakes

Now, grease a stainless steel plate with Cow’s ghee. Pour the mixture into greased plate and spread into a layer. Now, rest the ginger mixture to cool. After that, when it becomes warm at room temperature, start cutting the allum murabba into squares to make cookie. You can also use a cookie cutter for shaping allam murabba cakes.

Store the allam murabba cakes in an airtight glass container.

Dosage

Allam Murabba dosage = 3 grams to 5 grams

The higher dosage can cause heartburn and acidity, so the maximum dosage of Allam Murabba should not exceed from 10 grams a day.
